Xientians: A Call to Arms

Dear Fellow Xientians:

Every now and then we make a choice to take a stand. Once we do that, there is no turning back and we must see it through to the end.

An injustice has been done and this is my call for support.

Last February 13, 2007, Tuesday, the Local Math Quiz was held at Quesci and I was present to assist in the competition. During the preparations for the first year level competitions, i was onstage instructing one of the contestants on what to do. That’s when I felt someone hit me on the arm.

It was Mr Lorenzo. And he was furious, "Bakit nandito ka nanaman? di ba pinapaalis ka na?"

Needless to say, I was stunned. I never thought he’d go so low. I tried to hold myself together, and hence I did the only thing I could do at the time. I looked him in the eyes. I wasn’t going to back down.

Seeing this, he took of his glasses and challenged me to a fight. Mr Lorenzo clenched his fists and challenged me to a fight…

In front of students…

In front of faculty…

in front of his son…

Thankfully, I managed to find the strength to control myself and walk away.

Still, I was apalled. And I was even more disgusted when Mrs. Cayetano, the Math Dept Head, did nothing about the incident. Instead, they made me leave the campus, and I have been banned (again) from entering since.

Now, I know when I am at fault. But this was totally unprovoked. Mr Lorenzo was out of line and has been for a long time. This is the last straw. I cannot keep my mouth shut any longer. Enough is enough.

The battle has begun friends.

And this is my shoutout to every student who has ever suffered an injustice at the hands of Mr Lorenzo.

There is no room in our schools for monsters. Mr Lorenzo is a shame to every student who proudly calls himself a Xientian, and to teachers all over the Philippines.

It is time to stand and be heard.

There were plenty of witnesses to the incident, and I pray you will have the strength to speak up about this when the time comes. You know what happened. You saw it with your own eyes. And I can say it with conviction: Friends, I am innocent.

The actions of Mr Lorenzo were uncalled for.

It was unacceptable. And he crossed the line by deliberately trying to inflict physical harm on me.

So Fellow Xientians, It’s time.

Our voices have been supressed for far too long.

It is our turn now.

We must Stand and be heard.

In defense of dignity and integrity and honor.

But don’t get me wrong. I’m not saying this battle is going to be "you’re either on my side or against me". Rest assured that won’t be the case.

However, I don’t think I have to convince you that I have a case.

Stand and be heard.

It’s about time.

  6. Preposterous! This is highly preposterous, Jireh! And he calls himself a professional? I have never met his equal. He is an utter disgrace and is not fit to be called a “teacher”. You cannot be condemned of being stunned. Indeed, if his manners and morals had hit rock bottom he now has begun to dig!

Jireh, in the truth of your account this man whom you call Mr Lorenzo deserves not even the least of my sympathies. He has been consumed by a primeval desire for unmerited dominance. Although you have not yet officially applied for a teaching position in his area of responsibility, you have already been marked as a potential rival - and his pride cannot accept to be dethroned! his prejudice is against everything concerning you. What has he to disassociate his corrupted mind with that of despotic Marcos? though intelligent, a coward - and that is an understatement.

You require no further reassurance, Jireh. None but fools would seek to justify this latest episode in favor of that seven-year-old. There is no contention who is on the moral high ground. However, I do advise you to remain cautious. Let self-control be counted as a difference between you. It would be greater chastisement for him that you refuse to condescend to his apparent lack of maturity.

Mr Lorenzo, have you not a hint of self-respect? Whose ignominy have you so ingeniously perpetrated? I daresay, the samurai would have immediately severed your dishonored head.

(What a waste of genetic material. How could he have beaten a thousand other sperm?)

    -Ellis

  7. yeah…

i request your prayers for strength..
truth be told, i’m scared, and severely lack the kind of support that i need beside me when i battle this…

    i’ve got plenty behind me… but…

    as in a previous blog,

    sometimes i need more…

  9. I am a current student in QueSci, a first year student of I - Darwin..

a classmate of mine has been in an encounter w/ Sir Lorenzo and (again) injustice has been done..I’m just here to say that i’m really with you..

i know you already said this before but, id like to say it that, it IS and WAS uncalled for, for one thing he tried to harm you physically, a second thing is that the head of the Math Dept. didn’t do anything, lastly, the 3rd thing is that they banned you for a very unfair reason, it wasn’t your fault, it was Sir Lorenzo’s, they should’ve fired him from the start (they should’ve never hired him as a teacher)..

That ends my comment, i gotta go now..i just wanted to say i’m with you and that you ARE right….
